En una Asamblea Provincial celebrada el jueves 27 de marzo, se reunieron más de sesenta compañer@s del Sindicato de Obrer@s del Campo (integrado en el SAT), que representaban a afiliad@s de El Ejido, La Mojonera, San Agustín, Las Norias, Almería, El Alquián, El Puche, San Isidro y Campohermoso, así como a la Sección Sindical del manipulado de Biosol y a más de ochenta ex-trabajadores de S imón Sabio. Entre l@s asistentes se encontraban miembros de la Ocupación del invernadero de San Nicolás, así como algun@s afiliad@s del Sat de otros sectores. Se recibió la adhesión de compañeros de Pulpí, Vera, Berja, y de las empresas Naranjas Jiménez y Biocuevas, que no pudieron 
asistir al acto por razones laborales.
En la asamblea, formada en su m ayoría por jornaler@s inmigrantes, se analizó la situación laboral y social de los trabajador@s del campo en la provincia, los graves problemas que se padecen en materia de extranjería, así como la gran manifestación del 22M en Madrid y la situación interna organizativa del SAT Almería.
Se decidió que era el momento de afianzar la coordinación provincial del Soc Almería y por un animidad se eligió al histórico compañero marroquí de El Ejido, Abdelkader Chacha, como Coordinador Provincial. Asimismo se nombró un Comité Provincial de ocho personas, abierto a la incorporación de más afiliad@s
del campo y el manipulado.
La Asamblea del Soc-Sat se realizó en la puerta del local de Almería, recordando los inicios del sindicato en El Ejido, cuando el alcalde xenófobo de esa localidad nos impedía el uso de los locales públicos del municipio.
